PLATEAU is a beautiful and timeless coffee- and side table with an understated personality, combining a solid wooden top with an elegant tripod steel base. The table is developed by the Danish designer Søren Rose and was launched first time in 2015. Today, it has been extended to a series encompassing five versions with diameters from 35 cm up to 110 cm, the latter being a quite exclusive size, as there are not many big round solid wood coffee tables on the market. With five different sizes and three wood types, the PLATEAU series offers a diverse selection of coffee- and side tables that can be used separately or put together in various combinations to achieve a personal and unique look.
The table is developed with inspiration from a tree trunk, and designer Søren Rose simply imagined the PLATEAU tabletops being cut out as beautiful raw “slices” directly from the tree trunk. During the entire design process, Søren Rose kept removing details from the original sketches and ended up with this very minimalistic yet sophisticated table.
PLATEAU is an excellent combination of natural elements, modern design and classic Danish furniture traditions, created with the ability to blend into any setting and room, where aesthetics and quality are paramount.
